Betty H. Myers

As President of Kaleidosystems, Betty consults with individuals and organizations in healthcare, manufacturing, service and community organizations regarding issues of change. Her career spans more than 10 years in organizational effectiveness, following 20 years of progressive growth in a variety of industries, including healthcare, electronics, manufacturing, insurance and retail. Recent and current clients include AMOCO, Maryland General Hospital, Westinghouse Electric Corp., The Society for Women Engineers, Johnson & Johnson, and Provident Bank.

Betty is a certified facilitator for several quality improvement strategies and consults with department heads striving for increased productivity. She creates and delivers seminars in leadership, personal development, team effectiveness and business process redesign. In addition, she coaches individuals seeking career transitions.

She earned a Masters degree at Johns Hopkins University in Organization Development, a Certificate in Managing Change and a certificate in Jungian archetypes from Mount Vernon College. In addition, she is qualified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, (MBTI) a tool used in conflict resolution, team building, communications and career guidance.

As former adjunct faculty at Johns Hopkins University, Betty designed and taught the first masters level Women, Leadership and Change program. Other management courses include current approaches to change, negotiation & conflict, personal & organizational power and gender styles in management.

As former Director of Human Resources Development, Betty designed and delivered management development programs yielding measurable results in performance at a hospital. As Director of Leadership and Management Development at Westinghouse Corp., she launched an award winning Total Quality and leadership initiative, which met the national quality award criteria. Her process improvement initiatives resulted in reducing cycle time by 50%.

Published articles include "Resistance to Technological Change" and "Bottom Line Effectiveness: Using Resources you Already Have." National conference presentations include: "TQM and Organization Development," "Story and Mask Making" and "Myths, Masks & Metaphors: Tools for Diagnosing Organizations." "Masks as an Instructional Technology". Locally, she conducts seminars on Leadership, Conflict Resolution, Teambuilding, Presenting a Successful Business Image and Coping with Change.

Betty is an active board member of the Chesapeake Bay Organization Development Network, a member of the American Society for Training and Development, and the Howard County Center for the Arts. When not designing and delivering training programs, she creates watercolor paintings, masks, facilitates weekend gender retreats for men and women (with her husband) and teaches art courses at the Columbia Arts Center.
